What is Nigeria's timezone?
Nigeria uses West Africa Time (WAT), which is UTC+1. It does not observe daylight saving time, so the offset stays at UTC+1 all year. In the timezone list, select Africa/Lagos for Nigerian time.
Why do some timezones show different offsets at different times of year?
Many countries observe Daylight Saving Time (DST) — shifting their clocks forward by one hour in summer. For example, the UK is UTC+0 (GMT) in winter and UTC+1 (BST) in summer. The converter uses the exact IANA timezone rules to apply the correct offset for the specific date you enter.
